CSIR UGC NET 2019 exam to be held in June; Applications to begin from february 25

NEW DELHI: Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has announced CSIR UGC NET 2019 exam dates. The examination is scheduled on June 16, 2019. The exam will be conducted in offline mode. Candidates will be able to fill the application form for the test in online mode from February 25. The last date to fill the application form is March 18, 2019. To fill the application form, candidates will have to visit the official website of the examination authority – csirhrdg.res.in.

 

CSIR UGC NET 2019 exam for the June session will be conducted at various centres in 27 cities across the country. The exam will contain questions from 5 sections – Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences and Earth Sciences. The exam will be held in two shifts – morning and afternoon in which the test for Life Sciences and Physical sciences will be conducted in the morning session while the test for Chemical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences and Earth Sciences will be conducted in the afternoon session.

 

Each of the two shift of the exam will have to be completed by the candidates in 3 hours during they will be asked a total of 200 marks multiple choice questions. Candidates belonging to general category have to pay Rs. 1000 for exam fees (Rs. 500 for OBC candidates and Rs. 250 for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates).

 

CSIR UGC NET exam is conducted to determine the eligibility of the candidates as Lecturers and for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in the Faculty of Science. Candidates who qualify the examination for Lecturers (NET) will be eligible to apply at various Colleges and Universities while those who qualify JRF (NET) will be awarded a fellowship which will be effective from January 1, 2020 with the validity period of 2 years for joining the fellowship under CSIR.
