Presidency university starts admission process

WEST BENGAL: West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board will conduct Presidency University Bachelor’s Degree Entrance Test (PUBDET) on June 15 and June 16. Presidency University Master’s Degree Entrance Test will be held on June 15.

 

St Xavier’s University will announce details of for all undergraduate courses on their website shortly. Colleges affiliated to Calcutta University are expected to announce details of admission to undergraduate courses after board exams of class 12 get over.

 

Last date to fill up the application form for UG and PG courses at Presidency University is March 12. The students will get two days to make correction to the application form between March 13 and March 15.

 

“The entire process of filling up the application form and payment of fees is online. Even the admit cards will be available online,” said a member of the admission committee which consists of all departmental heads. Last year the state government made it mandatory for colleges and universities to conduct admissions online though Presidency university has been following the practice for several years now.

 

A candidate can apply for a maximum of two papers and eligible candidates will be allowed to opt for only one subject at the time of counselling. “The questions will be based on the syllabus of class XI and class XII. The life sciences department has the highest number of seats at 116 and philosophy lowest number of seats at 20,” said the official. The exams will be conducted on specially designed optical machine readable response sheets.
