Allahabad University to fill in 500 vacant teaching positions.The recruitment for the same starts from April 15. The decision was taken in the executive council meeting held on Wednesday. The vacancies are to be filled on the basis of 200 point roster system implemented by UGC.
It has been decided that AU would call 10 candidates for each vacant position and would follow the norms for screening as per the guidelines laid down by UGC on July 2018. University would commence the teaching recruitment on April 15 and the last date of filling the application form would be May 15.

Meanwhile, AU authorities have suspended the former head of the department and senior faculty member of the department of Hindi, Surya Narayan. The orders for his suspension was issued by the registrar AU, on Wednesday. He is currently facing charges of sexual harassment and an inquiry has been initiated in the matter. Singh has been attached to the dean Arts office.
