IIT Bhubaneswar Partners with Japanese organization to promote technical cooperation

Indian Institute of Technology(IIT) Bhubaneswar to partner with Japanese Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships (AOTS) for promoting human resources development and technical co-operation. Through Japan Desk, AOTS will try to connect Japanese companies with students from IIT.

 

A final discussion on the collaboration was conducted between a delegation of AOTS and IIT Bhubaneswar here on Wednesday. Memorandum of understanding will be signed very soon to officially start the project works.

 

AOTS is established under the Japanese government’s ministry of economy, trade and industry (METI) and currently functions as their policy implementations organizations in the field of industry and human resource development in developing countries through training, expert dispatch and other programmes.

RV Rajakumar, director of the IIT Bhubaneswar, said the partnership will have a strong focus towards professional development of students, creation of multiple academic and business opportunities including events to promote education, internships and employment for students.

 

“The cooperation will be beneficial for both the nations for their new technological developments. My institution will also explore collaboration in areas like robotics, augmented and virtual reality, energy, climate change, and other areas,” said Rajakumar

 

AOTS will start projects to bridge Japanese companies and students of IIT Bhubaneswar through Japan Desk, Japan Week and Japan Languages training. Japan Desk will have one Japanese-native person to connect Japanese companies with IIT students. Japan week will have company introduction seminars and placement fairs for IIT students. Japan language classes along with Japanese Soft Skill program will provide IIT students valuable insights about Japan and their organizations.

 

There will be a dedicated Japanese desk where the students can approach for knowing more on the Japanese companies. In addition, there are plans for business to business, research to research and business and research bridging projects to serve IIT Bhubaneswar and Japanese companies and universities along with helping both the nations.
