GGDSD felicitation ceremony :933 students and 7 faculties received awards

Farewell, and prize distribution functions were held at several colleges in the city. Around 933 students and 7 faculties received awards during the annual prize distribution function held at GGDSD college. Faculty members who have completed Ph.D. were given 5000 rupees cash prize.

 

Dr. Anirudh Joshi, the general secretary said, “For the third consecutive year, GGDSD College has been included among top 100 colleges of the country by National Institutional Ranking Framework list released for 2019 which is a matter of great pride for all of us.” The annual prize distribution function was also celebrated by the Government College of Art at Tagore Theatre where Arun Kumar Gupta, principal secretary home cum and Technical Education, Chandigarh Administration graced the occasion as the chief guest.

 

Amongst those awarded 11 students won special awards for their academic excellence in their respective departments and, 100 others won in their respective classes in academic pursuits and sports category. Some 16 awards were bagged in Panjab university zonal, Inter-zonal, and National Youth Festival. The team of students which won Gold and silver medals in India Skills, competitions organized by National Skill Development Corporation, Govt. of India and also represented at next level held in Abu Dhabi and Australia were felicitated as well.

Website in name of College dynamic and College Inventory Management Software were also launched on this occasion. Farewell functions were held for final year students in Dev Samaj at sector 45 and PGGCG-42 for final year students. In Dev Samaj the whole college campus wore a colourful look. The juniors put up an entertaining music and dance show which included a medley of songs and dance performances on popular Bollywood numbers. Sukhmeet Kaur won the ‘Miss Dev Samaj’ title. Dr. Agnese Dhillon, principal wished all the students success in their lives.

 

In PGGCG-42, Hitika won Miss science 2019 whereas Ayushi stood the first runner up, Ishpreet second runner up. Miss confident was won by Rajwinder and Miss elegant was won by Anshum. Principal Prof.Binu Dogra wished the parting students well and asked them to be brand ambassadors of the college.
