Study in India Campaign: Eminent Educationists, policymakers discussed about ways to attract best Indian origin teachers, students

Study in India Campaign by the Government of India was held on 24th April 2019. During this campaign Eminent Educationists, policymakers discussed ways various to attract best Indian origin teachers, students.

 

The meet was attended by former Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) chairman K Kasturirangan, scientific advisor to the PM Vijaya Raghavan, National Testing Agency chairman MS Ananth and others. 

 

Around 70 eminent educationists and policy makers started the discussion on the theme ‘How to attract the best of teachers who are of Indian origin but now teaching abroad’. The central theme of the sessions was floated to the group by Niti Aayog chief executive officer Amitabh Kant at the three-day event meeting organized by the HRD ministry. In his address to the group, Mr Kant noted that Indian Higher Education system needed to develop special packages to attract the best of teachers.

Another proposal that came forth during the meeting suggested that granting of more autonomy in areas like hiring foreign faculty in institutions that are engaged in government’s Study in India programme, would also go a long way in ensuring hiring of quality teaching professionals.

 

Around 70 top academicians took part in the three-day event organised by the HRD ministry.
