Jipmer to conduct entrance exams for MBBS on June 2

Online entrance exams for admissions in to MBBS course will be conducted by Jawaharlal Insitute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research(JIPMER) on June 2 .The exams will be held in 25 states across 280 centres in two shifts.

 

The examination in the morning shift will be held between 10am and 12.30pm and the evening shift between 3pm and 5.30pm. The gates of the examination centres would be closed before 9.15am and 2.15pm, said a release from the institute.

 

There are 200 seats. Jipmer Puducherry campus has 150 seats while Karaikal campus has 50 seats.

 

A total of 1,84,272 candidates have applied for the entrance examination. As many as 94,073 students will appear for the examination in the morning shit while 90,199 candidates in the evening shift.

 

A total of 2,279 candidates will appear in seven examination centres in Puducherry. There are 156 centres in the south zone, 63 in the north zone, 34 in the east zone and 27 in the west zone.

 

The institute has advised candidates and parents to visit the examination centre a day before the examination day. Parents will not be allowed inside the examination centres.

Latecomers will not be entertained on any account after the gate closing time. There will be a thorough frisking.

 

Candidates must carry only hall tickets along with valid identity proof (in original) and photocopy of the same identity proof. Candidates without hall tickets and valid identity proof will not be allowed to appear for the entrance examination.

 

Mobile phones, calculators, watches, alarm clocks, digital watches with built-in calculators, memory, earphones and other electronic gadgets will not be permitted.

 

 

Candidates are responsible for the safekeeping of their belongings, and arrangements will not be made by the duty staff for safekeeping and returning above gadgets, the release said.

 

The institute has provided ground floor seating for orthopedically handicapped (OPH) candidates. OPH candidates can contact centre staff for assistance. The institute requested the parents of the candidates to stay away from the examination centres and warned that any disturbances will be viewed seriously. Jipmer will publish the merit list on or before June 21. It will hold the first counselling in the last week of June. Classes will begin in the first week of July.
