IIIT Allahabad : To launch BTech (IT) programme in Mass Media Informatics

BTech (IT) programme in Mass Media Informatics to be launched by Indian Institute of Information and Technology (IIIT) Allahabad. This programme has been intoroduced considering the heavy demand of experts in media industry.

 

“The graduates of the proposed BTech IT-Mass Media program will retain knowledge of core Information Technology discipline with unique expertise in the Media and Entertainment domain”, said director IIIT-A, Prof Nagabhushan.

 

Before launching the programme, the institute has organised a two-day workshop on ‘mass media informatics’ for the new proposed program of BTech (IT). The workshop concluded at institute’s Jhalwa campus, on Saturday.

Prof Nagabhushan said the IIIT-A Senate had already given its nod to go ahead with this course at IIIT-A. Therefore this brain storming session was held. The invited experts in the field provided with their valuable opinion regarding the proposed programme, he added.

 

Prof Anupam Agrawal, coordinator of the workshop said that several experts including Jatin Srivatava, associate professor, EW Scripps School of Journalism, Ohio University of US, Prof Govindji Pandey, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Central University (BBAU), Lucknow, Prof Sisir Basu, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Faculty of Arts, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi etc spoke on the issue and ideas shared by them would be incorporated by the institute in framing the course work, said the director.
