Gujarat diploma admission: 25k seats vacant in engineering courses

As many as 25,000 seats remained vacant  in the mock round for admissions to diploma engineering colleges which was conducted by Admission Committee for Professional Diploma Courses (ACPDC) 

 

The mock rounds were for 65,772 seats across 148 diploma engineering colleges in the state recently, said sources in the admission committee. Of the 45,520 candidates who had registered for the diploma course, 41,378 made it to the merit list. The mock round was held for 31.571 candidates.

“There were six colleges that found no takers from the candidates appearing for the mock round. Ten colleges saw all their seats being filled while 47 colleges were such where less than 20% of the seats were filled. In remaining 38 colleges, 50% or more seats were filled,” said sources in the admission committee.

 

The admission procedure will be held on July 9 and the results of round one will be declared on July 12, sources said. The mock rounds saw maximum candidates opting for computer science followed by civil, mechanical, IT and chemical.
