Various pharmacy entrance examinations for the year 2019 for 4 years pharmacy or commonly B.Pharm courses is mandatory for students who aspire to practice pharmacy and build a career in it.

 

Bachelor of Pharmacy is the study of preparation of medicinal drugs for diseases and deficiencies. Pharmacists are the most needed persons in the medicinal industry and even hospitals that manufacture medicine. Bachelor in Pharmacy course is filtering out the healthcare professionals from ordinary men from a long time and is expected to so for the years to come as this is the field that needs extremely skilled and knowledgeable individuals.

 

Eligibility Criteria

Students who complete higher secondary examination (10+2) in science subjects that include physics, chemistry, and mathematics/biology are eligible to study pharmacy at the bachelor’s level.

 

Various B.Pharma Examinations

Based on the marks/ranks obtained in the below-mentioned examinations, a student is eligible to study pharmacy at the bachelor’s level.

 

WBJEE (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination) – Generally conducted in the month of May, WBJEE is the entrance examination for students to qualify and study pharmacy in the state of West Bengal.

 

BITSAT (Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences Aptitude Test) – The examination is conducted for students who are willing to study pharmacy at BITS Pilani. Generally, this examination is also conducted in the month of May.

 

TSEAMCET (Telangana State Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test) – Through the rank secured in this examination, students are eligible to study pharmacy course in a college at Telangana state and this examination is conducted in the month of May.

 

Lateral Entry To Pharmacy Courses

Students who are willing to study pharmacy from the second year in universities like Manipal University or Lovely Professional University need to secure at least 50 percent marks in their diploma in pharmacy course and should study science subjects in their 10+2.

 

Learning At B.Pharma

While B.Pharm students learn to maintain the standard of health and living of human beings, being a student they learn all about medicines and their reactions with a human body. They learn the chemical and organic properties of all the raw materials used in medicines.

 

A pharmacy programme teaches a student to become selectors of the right drugs for the right treatment. A student studies topics of pharmacology, chemistry, pharmaceutical chemistry, biochemistry, kinetics, pharmacy management, and compounding medications.

 

After Completing Bachelor’s In Pharmacy

There are lots of career options for students after completing B.Pharma. Students can either opt for higher education (master’s degree) or can join an MBA programme in branches like Healthcare Administration.

 

Students who are willing to open their own chemist shops are required to register with the State Pharmacy Council. A B.Pharma course offers job opportunities in public as well as private sector that allows students to become lecturer or work in the industries like Hospital Pharmacy, Clinical Pharmacy, Technical Pharmacy, Research Agencies, Medical Dispensing Store, Food and Drug Administration, Sales and Marketing Departments, Educational Institutes, and other healthcare centers.

They work in the following verticals:

 

1. As an analytical chemist who looks after the materials used in it and studies the behavior of those with other elements.

 

2. Food and Drug Inspector department works which is required for collecting samples of bacteriological and chemical products and later analyzing them for checking the authenticity of those products.

 

3. As a hospital drug coordinator, students can work to prepare medications under the guidance of an experienced pharmacist.

 

4. Working as Drug Therapist is to look and counsel people who are addicted to prescribed or illegal drugs.

 

As a regulatory manager, B.Pharm students can study the scientific, legal documents of medicines and verify them.
