For all the students aspiring to become a medical professional, the biggest worry is how to prepare for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Under Graduate (NEET-UG) and AIIMS-MBBS Entrance Exam simultaneously. Read below to find out how to prepare for both medical entrance exam in tandem:

 

NEET UG entrance exam: Main focus area

 

In NEET entrance exam, the main focus is on three core subjects – Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Maximum weightage is given to Biology subject (maximum marks 360) followed by Physics (maximum marks 180) and Chemistry (maximum marks 180).

 

AIIMS MBBS entrance exam: Main focus area

 

In AIIMS MBBS entrance exam, the main focus is on – Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Aptitude and General Knowledge. A total of 200 questions is asked in the AIIMS entrance exam and duration of the exam is – three and a half hours. The weightage is same for all the three core subjects. There will be 60 questions in each (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) subjects and 10 questions each in General Knowledge and Aptitude sections.

How to prepare for both exams simultaneously?

 

The students who are planning to appear for both – NEET, as well as AIIMS exam, are advised to keep the focus on all three core subjects – Biology, Physics and Chemistry. More tips on how to prepare for both the exams simultaneously is provided below for the reference of the students:

 

Preparation tips for NEET & AIIMS MBBS entrance exam

 

Set up a daily study plan: The students are advised to set up a ‘daily study plan’ with equal focus on Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Also, keep some time for preparation for Aptitude and General Knowledge. Refer to the previous year question paper of AIIMS MBBS UG entrance exam to prepare for the aptitude section. Read newspaper daily for tackling questions related to current affairs in the General Knowledge section of AIIMS exam.

 

Clear the concepts: The students are advised to put a lot of focus on getting the concepts cleared for all three important subjects. The students can refer to the previous year question papers in order to get familiarised with the important subjects, type of questions asked and complexity of questions.

 

Test your preparation: Take two mock tests every week – one for each AIIMS and NEET. Analyse your performance in the mock tests to identify the areas of strength and weaknesses. Regular mock tests can also help you in developing your own test strategies to help you on the actual exam.
