Chennai-based EdTech software-as-a-service (SaaS) provider uLektz Learning Solutions is keen to expand its operations and reach in Telangana. The company is actively engaged in talks with several colleges and universities in the State as well as book/content publishers, to offer a suite of apps for higher education.

In Hyderabad, about ten academic institutions and publishers have already started using the company’s platform, and this number is expected to go up in the next one year.

The company’s SaaS platform is designed to be the operating system for higher education. It helps connect students, educators and all other stakeholders of higher education, and provides them a suite of apps ranging from learning management system, educational enterprise resource planning (ERP) and social learning platform to marketplace of apps, offering digital resources and services for education, skill development and careers.

Pan-India, the company is looking to reach out to one million users and 500-600 colleges and universities in the next one year. The company will also explore providing the platform in multiple vernacular languages (in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi to start with), so that language will not become a barrier to students for learning.

uLektz Learning Solutions founder and CEO Sadiq Sait told Telangana Today, “Academic institutions are under pressure to go digital. They need platforms that help in enabling learning and placements for their students. Realising this need, we have provided an app that is tailor-designed to each of the over 200 colleges and universities that we work with across India. Our platform also helps academic institutions in their campus management. There are about 3.5-4 lakh students and faculty currently on our platform. Students are able to interact with peers and faculty across the country.”

uLektz has nine product offerings that include Connect (a social learning platform to connect, share and learn), Campus (college/university management software), Books (digital learning material-e-books, videos and notes), Skills (skill courses with certifications), Interns (internships for real-time industry experience), Jobs (jobs & placement from the industry), News (educational news from India and abroad), Events (latest events related to higher education) and Scholarships (for higher education).

With the help of artificial intelligence and machine learning, students today get recommendations on what is useful for them, he added.

Currently, uLektz is being used by hundreds of colleges and universities across India to enable digital education and help face education transformation challenges by enhancing academic effectiveness, improving administrative efficiencies, supporting students with employability skills and job placements, and adhering to the compliances of various accreditation and regulatory bodies of higher education.
