GATE 2020 registration date extended to September 28: All you need to know

Due to heavy traffic in the application portal, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has extended the last date for submission of the application form for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2020 with normal fees to September 28. Interested candidates can visit the official website, gate.iitd.ac.in, to apply for GATE 2020 till 6 pm. The admit cards for GATE 2020 would be released on January 3, 2020, and the examination would be conducted on February 1, 2, 8 and 9, 2020.

 

GATE 2020 registration: How to register

 

Step 1: Visit the official website of GATE i.e. gate.iitd.ac.in
Step 2: Click on the link which says ‘GATE Online application form’
Step 3: A new page will appear
Step 4: Fill up the required credentials
Step 5: Log in using your enrollment id/email address and password
Step 6: Fill up the GATE 2020 application form
Step 7: Upload the required documents and pay the fee
Step 8: Click on the submit button.

GATE 2020 Registration: Eligibility criteria

 

Candidates must be a graduate in engineering and technology. Master’s degree in any relevant science subject will also work.

 

Candidates with the back (below passing mark) in any of the subjects in their qualifying examination will have to upload a copy of mark sheet of the final year, issued from their institute. Internet downloaded mark sheet will not be considered in this case.

 

Candidates who are expected to finish their courses will have to upload a signed copy of a certificate from the Head of Department of the institute or a copy of the mark sheet.

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an examination conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore and the seven Indian Institutes of Technology (at Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee) on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB)-GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India.
