uLektz Wall of Fame is proud to announce “Top 20 influential Women Educators in TamilNadu”. The initiative, which celebrates the achievements of female educators in TamilNadu, is split into two categories: Top 20 influential Women Educators and Most Promising Women Educators in Tamil Nadu.
The initiative received hundreds of valid nominations from across Tamil Nadu, of which few nominations were shortlisted and finally, over 28 women educators were chosen. The vision of this initiative is to celebrate the unique contributions of some of the finest women educators in the state of Tamilnadu, who have not only helped enhance education and enriched the lives of thousands of students but also played a key role in bringing the positive impact in the higher education.

She was one of the very few pioneers in the country who implemented Inclusive Education in India. She is a Fellow/Member of CommonWealth British Council. She continues to provide reviewer services to a number of journals and edited 3 books in Special Education published by IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) New Delhi. She has been conducting innovative researches in Education and Special Education for nearly 20 years. Currently she is the Director of the prestigious Indo-US research project under the Obama-Singh Knowledge Initiative Project granted by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi.

During her tenure as HoD, both Electronics and IT department of MIT received funding from DST and from UGC. She played a key role in setting up the Parallel Processing Lab and Sensor Networks lab at MIT.

Dr. Sr. Rosy Joseph, Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics, took on the mantle of Principal of Stella Maris College in June 2018. She holds a doctorate in Mathematics from Himachal Pradesh University and joined the Department of Mathematics, Stella Maris College, in 1998.
She has served the College in various important posts as Dean of Academic Affairs, Dean of Student Affairs, and Controller of Examinations before taking on the role of Principal of the College.
As a member of the Academic Council of the University of Madras, she has participated in several programs and events convened to further the progress of the University. As a member of the Board of Studies of the Department, she has been at the helm of curriculum design and syllabus development. Reputed to be an excellent teacher and ardent mathematician, Sr. Rosy has presented research papers at national and international venues.

Similarly she launched many What next programs on careers, with education as the focus documenting individual traits to make an informed career choice.
Thinnai Palli on Character and values building, detailing individual traits, developing culture tourism and self esteem by involving homemakers, youth and retirees are ready for launch. It is the result of 10 years of various volunteer interventions, covering 20000 to 50000 students every year by training trainers. 2019 we have launched two batches of 40 trainers each.

Currently working as a teacher at W.P.A Soundarapandian Higher Secondary School, Ayyanavaram. It’s a government-aided school, where almost every child comes from a poor background. I organize creative classes, conduct value-added classes and make sure every kid there gets to know the importance of being socially responsible by trying to give back to the society from which they arise.
VRIKSHAM: Initiated an organization of motivated women to work together under the Inner Wheel Club. We work for social causes and organize awareness programs for various causes. We have adopted 10 government schools in Mogappair, provide them with value-added classes every week, improve the hygiene and ambience of the school by building toilets and renovating the kitchen. Also, we conduct Annual Sports Meet for the 10 schools every year and felicitate the participants and winners with trophies and certificates.
THULIRGAL: It’s an organization I had initiated at my locality (Nolambur) with a group of kids and young adults to create a more socially responsible society. The group has now around 125 members. Thulirgal is budding team of BODHI CHARITABLE TRUST (an organization I have founded to initiate activities like this). Every week we organize value-added programs and classes, and we make sure we indulge in activities like tree planting, plastic removal and street cleaning every alternate Sundays.
Udhayan Shalini: It’s a central government scheme which provides scholarships for socially responsible, academically good and poor students. Currently, I’m the mentor for 10 girl students(11th std) who are this year’s scholarship receivers, they’ll continue receiving this mentorship until they complete their higher studies. Any assistance they require regarding academics related issues, placement related issues or any other, we will help them to find a way.
SACA (Stand Against Child Abuse): It’s a project initiated for creating and increasing the awareness of the current issues of child abuse. We conduct awareness programs at schools and apartments regularly. This November we are planning for a awareness creating road-trip across the country, a team of four people will be traveling via road for about 30 days across the major cities of the country to increase the awareness for Child Abuse.
