Osmania University College of Engineering bags NBA accreditation

The Osmania University’s College of Engineering (OUCE) was accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) on Monday for various courses for a period of up to six years.

According to a press release issued by the university, an 11 member inspection committee from the NBA had visited the OUCE from July 26-28 for the undergraduate courses accreditation in biomedical engineering, civil engineering, computer science engineering, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering departments.

The college had constituted committees for the preparation of NBA department wise and institutional wise for submitting the self-assessment reports of the all the programmes. As per the NBA results, the UG programs of biomedical engineering is accredited for six years from November, 2019 to November, 2025. Other four UG programmes including civil engineering, computer science engineering, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering are accredited for three years from November, 2019 to November, 2022.

The ECE department has already secured the NBA accreditation for three years from June, 2019 to June, 2022 based on the inspection conducted in the month of March, 2019.

“The NBA accreditation for all UG programmes provides many advantages to the institute such as getting funds from state and central government agencies. There is a scope for better ranking in national and international ranking platforms,” read the press release.

Further, the accreditation will also improve student placements, industry-institute interactions, internships and admissions in reputed institutions at national and international levels.
