UPSC Civil Services exam notification released; check eligibility, age, important dates here

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Wednesday, February 12, released the notification for the Civil Service examination 2020 on its official website.

The interested candidates can apply online for UPSC Civil Service Examination 2020 through the official portal of UPSC — upsc.gov.in. The last date to submit the online application for UPSC Civil Service Exam 2020 is March 3, 2020, till 6.00 pm.

UPSC will conduct the preliminary examination of the Civil Services Examination for recruitment to the various services and posts on May 31, 2020.

Eligibility Conditions

Nationality

Applicants should be a citizen of India to apply for the Indian Administrative Service, the Indian Foreign Service and the Indian Police Service.

For other services, applicants should be citizens of any of the following countries — A citizen of India, a subject of Nepal, a subject of Bhutan, a Tibetan refugee who moved to India before January 1, 1962.

A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam intending to permanently settle in India.

Age Limit

A candidate should have attained the age of 21 years and should not have attained the age of 32 years on August 1, 2020. Candidate should have been born not earlier than August 2, 1988, and not later than August 1, 1999.

Minimum Educational Qualifications

The candidate should possess a degree of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University Under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification.

Application Fee

Applicants need to pay an application fee of Rs 100. Female/SC/ST/Persons with Benchmark Disability Candidates are exempted from payment of the fee.

Candidates should note the following things while submitting UPSC Civil Services application form 2020:

One photo ID card (Aadhaar Card/Voter Card/PAN Card/Passport/Driving Licence/Any other Photo ID Card issued by the State/Central Government).

Candidates need to provide the details of the photo ID card while filling up the application form.

The candidates need to upload a scanned copy of the photo ID whose details have been given in the online application by him/her.

The same photo ID Card will be used for all future references

Candidate is advised to carry this Photo ID Card while appearing for Examination/Personality Test.
