ISRO Young Scientist Programme 2020 – Check steps to apply

Indian Space Research Organisation, ISRO has launched the Young Scientist Programme for school students. Students of class 9 can apply to the programme. The application dates for which have been extended till today, March 5, 2020.

Candidates who are interested can apply till today evening on the official website of ISRO. Earlier the last date to fill the form and apply was February 24, 2020, after which the dates were extended to March 5 amid extensive response received from school students.

Starting date to apply: February 3, 2020
Last Date to apply: March 5, 2020 (extended)
Last date to upload documents: March 31, 2020

ISRO Young Scientist Programme 2020: Steps to apply

Step 1: Candidates need to go to the official website and click on the YUVIKA link provided on the homepage.

Step 2: Enter your name and other details, schools name, the class you are in etc.

Step 3: The candidates need to upload their certificates and other details after the above process.

Step 4: The students who have passed standard 8 and are in class 9 are eligible for the programme.

Step 5: Save the details and submit the application form.

ISRO young Scientist Programme 2020: Eligibility criteria

The candidates must have passed class 8 and should not be in standard 10 to apply for the programme.

Only class 9 students can apply for the programme. The candidates are also to be notified that the rural candidates will be given weightage over the city school candidates.

The performance in class 8 will hold a 60 percent weightage. After this, the prizes received by candidates would also make a difference in their selection.

If a student happens to be a national or a state-level competition winner he/she would be given weightage over others in the selection process. Scouts and NCC candidates will be given 5 percent weightage in the selection process.

After the candidates are provisionally selected they will be needing to upload their certificates on the website by March 31, 2020. To know more details candidates can log in to ISROs official website.
