SSC CHSL & JE 2020 exams postponed due to coronavirus epidemic

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) on Thursday postponed the ongoing Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination (Tier-1), 2019 with effect from today, i.e., Friday, March 20, 2020.

A notice in this regard issued by the SSC instructed that “As a precautionary measure, in view of the emergent situation due to COVID-19, it has been decided by the Commission, in the larger public interest, to postpone the ongoing Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination (Tier-I), 2019 with effect from March 20, 2020.

Similarly, the Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Quantity Surveying & Contract) Examination (Paper-1) 2019, scheduled to commence from March 30, 2020 has also been postponed.

Fresh schedules for these examinations will course. Candidates are advised to visit Commission regularly for updates.”

Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examinations (Tier-I), 2019 is being conducted by the Commission from March 17, 2020 to March 28, 2020 throughout the country.

The Commission holds a competitive examination (CHSL) every year for recruitment to the posts of Lower Divisional Clerk/ Junior Secretariat Assistant, Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant and Data Entry Operators for various Ministries/ Departments/ Offices of the Government of India.

The examination will consist of a Computer Based Examination (Tier-I), Descriptive Paper (Tier-II) and Skill Test/ Typing Test (Tier-III).

In the question papers, wherever necessary, the metric systems of weights and measures only will be used.

The Tier-I Examination will consist of Objective Type, Multiple choice questions only. The questions will be set both in English & Hindi.

There will be negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.
