In view of the lockdown due to Covid-19 till April 14, the examinations suspended by CBSE and other education boards can be completed only by around mid-May and the results announced in June, government sources said on Monday. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended by one month the registration dates for various entrance tests.
A senior HRD ministry official said Board exams of CBSE and NIOS are likely to conducted between end of April and mid-May. “However, a decision on this will be taken by the respective Boards after assessing the situation after April 14. The results will also be delayed as the evaluation process too will start post the lockdown and results are expected in the month of June. But all this will depend if the examinations can be resumed after April 14,” said the official.

NTA extended the last date for registration of seven examinations on Monday. The detailed schedule of revised dates for downloading of admit cards and examination will be announced after assessment of the situation after April 15. Majority of these exams, which were scheduled between April and May, would not be pushed beyond June-July if the lockdown due to the Covid-19 outbreak is not extended.
On the advice of the HRD ministry, NTA extended by one month the registration dates of JEE for National Council for Hotel Management (NCHM), Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Admission Test for Ph.D. and Open Mat (MBA), Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Examination (JNUEE), UGC-National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET)-June 2020, CSIR-National Eligibility Test (CSIR-NET)-June 2020 and All India AYUSH Post Graduate Entrance Test (AIAPGET).
NTA has already postponed the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-UG (NEET UG) scheduled for May 3 and the JEE (Main) exam scheduled in the first and second week of April. Dates for other exams will also be rescheduled.
