MIT modifies its examination time table, cancels end sems exams

The Manipal Institute of Technology, a constituent unit of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) has issued a fresh circular on conduct of its examination. TOI had earlier reported about students taking the internet by storm and protesting against the online sessional and end sem exams being conducted in the wake of the pandemic. Students had objected to the use of platform PEXA LITE for the conduct of sessional and end sem, alleging security problems.

In a circular addressed to the students, director MIT, stated that in view of the concerns related to the proposed online platform, the sessional test II will now be conducted using Microsoft Teams. The second sessional test will start on June 10 instead of June 8. The revised time table will be communicated on Monday through SLCM and departments.

Students who are not able to write the sessional test II due to valid reasons need to write to the HoD (for higher semester and PG students ) and to associate director- Academics (In the case of first year students. Retest for the students who missed sessional test 1 and sessional test 2 will be announced at a later date.

The end semester examination scheduled for July 2020(II/IV/VI Semester B tech and II semester MTech/ MCA) stands cancelled. The procedure of prorating the marks for the end semester examination will be communicated on receiving the University guidelines.

The latest notice overrides the decision made on the conduct of sessional tests, end semester examinations, promotion criteria and the branch change criteria mentioned in the earlier circular dated June 5, 2020, the circular stated.
