Odisha government cancels remaining UG, PG final year exams

Due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, the Odisha government has decided to cancel all undergraduate and postgraduate final semester examinations except for the medical courses. As per an official, examinations from medical courses will be conducted as per schedule. Further, the examination for students who have more than two back papers in the final semester or final year exams, are also canceled.

The decision was taken in a video conference meeting held by Higher Education Minister A K Sahoo and Vice-Chancellors, Principals of autonomous colleges, and senior officials of the department, as per PTI.

Decision on the evaluation process

During the meeting, the decision was made that universities and autonomous colleges will follow the methodology recommended by UGC for the evaluation process and will publish the results by August end.

Students will be awarded marks following the evaluation methodology which will include prescribed weightage for internal assessment and remaining weightage to an average of marks obtained in all previous semesters in a particular subject.
