E-classes through Radio and TV by PSEB

The covid 19 induced lockdown has not only forced private educational institutions to conduct online learning classes through video conferencing software including WebEx, Zoom etc. to keep up the pace with syllabus but the government schools have also switched to e learning using popular social media platforms, radio as well as television.

Jaswinder Kaur, district mentor, Amritsar, Parho Punjab Paraho Punjab, Punjab School Education Board, told TOI on Sunday that teachers deliver lectures to the students through Door Darshan Punjabi and Swayam Prabha DTH Channel number 20. Lectures were also being given through All India Radio , added she.

“We have seen that students are now taking keen interest in e learning and as a result we have already successfully completed April and May month’s syllabus” said Kaur.

She said that besides using Zoom and other apps, teachers were also using social media platforms including Whatsapp for sending homework to the students .

The online classes has instead turned out to be a boon for the tech savvy youth who are already well aware of the use of various social media platforms using their smartphones and students take lesser time to learn and retain the information with the sudden shift from classrooms to online classes, added she.
