Gujarat University postpones offline exams for courses under UGC

Gujarat University has decided to postpone its offline exams for courses under UGC which was scheduled to commence from August 21. It is to be noted that the exams for the courses governed by councils like Medical and Dental Council will be conducted as per the schedule.

GU registrar Piyush Patel clarified to the deans that postponed exams are only for courses under UGC. However, the option to register for the online exam will be available till August 16.

“The offline exam has been postponed keeping in mind the Ministry of Home Affairs guidelines of keeping educational campuses closed till August 31,” Vice-Chancellor Himanshu Pandya said.

The dean of law and education departments on Monday informed that they will also provide the option of holding online examinations for final year students in courses like BA, BSc, BCom, and others. Dean (Law) Rishikesh Mehta also said that Bar council has mandated to conduct the examinations for 2nd, 4th, and 6th semesters and the mode of examination is not specified.
