GATE Scholarship 2020 AICTE releases stipend for GATE/GPAT PG courses on aicteindia.org Details

The All India Council for Technical Education, AICTE has released the GATE scholarship 2020 for M.Tech/M.E./M.Arch students for the current academic year 2020-21. All the students who have received admission in the institutions affiliated with AICTE in the current academic year, 2020-21 and are possessing a valid GATE score at the time of admission would be eligible for the GATE PG scholarship as announced on aicte-india.org.

As per the notice, the students would be provided with a monthly stipend of INR 12,400 per month for a period of 2 years or till their course is completed, whichever happens, sooner. Students would also be provided with an annual contingency grant of INR 20,000 as per the scholarship notification.

“AICTE in order to ensure the development of technical education in India awards Post Graduate Scholarship of Rs. 12,400/- per month to full-time GATE/GPAT qualified students admitted to AICTE approved postgraduate programs in AICTE approved Institutions/ University Departments,” reads the official notice.

GATE Scholarship 2020: About the AICTE PG scholarship process

After the form is filled, the institutes would have to verify and submit the data of all candidates who have been admitted in M.Tech/M.E./M.Arch through GATE for the academic years 2020-21. The final date for all institutes to verify and submit the data to AICTE is December 31, 2020. The scholarship would be provided from the date of commencement of class or the date of admission of the candidates. Students must note that they would be receiving the GATE scholarship 2020 amount directly in their bank account.

All those candidates who have qualified under the Other Backward Category (Creamy Layer) would not be eligible for the scholarship. However, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates would be required to deposit their certificates which are not more than one year old to process their applications for the programme.
