Calicut University to conduct reexam for COVID-19 positive & other students

The University of Calicut has decided to conduct a re-exam for students who could not appear for the exams earlier. Candidates who missed the exam due to COVID-19 can appear for the re-exam if they produce a government certificate or related documents. Students who tested positive for the virus, those who were in quarantine, people who were stranded abroad, pregnant women, differently-abled persons, and those with health issues are eligible to appear for re-exam, as per the release issued by the university on Tuesday.

The University will conduct the exam by the following the COVID-19 protocol that includes virus-infected persons not allowed to appear for the examination.

Additional exam centers have also been allotted to the university for the conduct of the examintions. The additional centers are University College, Thiruvananthapuram; Government College, Chavara, Kollam; Government College, Kottayam; Government College, Ambalappuzha, Alappuzha; Maharaja’s College, Ernakulam; Marthoma College, Pathanamthitta; Government College, Kattappana, Idukki; St. Thomas College, Thrissur; NSS College, Manjeri, Malappuram; Malabar Christian College, Kozhikode; NSS Training College, Ottappalam, Palakkad; NMSM Government College, Kalpetta; Government Brennen Higher Secondary School, Thalassery, Kannur; and Government College, Kasaragod. The centres in Lakshadweep are Calicut University centres at Kadamath, Kavarathy, and Androth.

The Controller of Examinations has issued guidelines for students who have registered for the examinations. As per the guidelines, the students should reach the exam centers before half an hour. Students in containment zones and those in quarantine should inform the exam superintendent in advance, seeking special facilities.

Students having exams in the morning should inform the officials a day before the exam and students whose exams are scheduled in the afternoon should send the request at least three hours in advance. Also, the change in the exam center should also be requested prior to the exam. In case a student cannot attest their photographs, they will have to produce a copy of a valid ID card.
