DU SOL exam 2020: 39,000 get another chance to fill Delhi University exam form

DU Form Fill

After over 39,000 students of School of Open Learning and a few regular college students missed the December 5 deadline for filling up their examination forms, Delhi University has opened up a window for them. However, it will also hold the examinations from this Saturday despite objections from some students.

SOL has 1,41,298 students who are eligible to appear for the blended online open-book exam from December 12. However, during a check on Sunday, it was found that over 39,000 students hadn’t submitted their forms. SOL officiating principal U S Pandey claimed “every year some 10-20% of the students do not fill the forms. But this year we had sent multiple reminders through emails”.

DU dean of exams D S Rawat told TOI that the university had extended “the dates for the form fill-up by a few more days”, but would hold the examinations from December 12. “Students should be a little more serious as we have been sending them information on time and multiple reminders,” he added.

Rawat said most students had mailed the university the reason for not being able to meet the deadline. “They all either claimed that they didn’t check their emails or had forgotten about the last date. Even some regular college students have missed it and the university cannot be in a situation where they cannot give their exams.”

At Keshav Mahavidyalaya, one student has missed the deadline due to health issues, said principal Madhu Pruthi. “We personally reach out to students and inform them about developments,” she said.
