Autorickshaw driver’s daughter gets American scholarship for 2 crore

Rutuja Bhoite, a resident of Kondhwa Khurd, received an American scholarship of Rs 2 crore and will study finance management in America. Her father, Arun Bhoite, is a rickshaw driver, while her mother, Nanda Bhoite, sells vegetables in the Kondhwa Khurd area.

The journey of Rutuja from Kondhwa to America is incredible. She studied at a municipal school in Kondhwa till 8th standard and did her 10th at Avasara Academy. She got a scholarship from the United World College (UWC), Thailand, of Rs 50 lakh, where she completed her education up to 12th standard. Recently she got a scholarship from Lake Forest College in America of Rs 2 crore, and she will fly from Thailand to America for finance management studies.

It will be a four years graduation level course, and she will be granted 65 thousand dollars (Rs 50 lakh) each year. She strives to get admission for a post-graduation course from Harvard University.

Rutuja has two sisters and one brother. The family members are delighted and proud of her success.

Speaking about her achievement, Rutuja’s uncle and also her guide, Santosh Khodwe, said, “We are proud of her. No one from our family ever traveled to America. Rutuja is the first member who has gone this far, and it is an incredible moment for all of us. I hope that other girls from our country will get inspiration from Rutuja’s journey and achieve great success in their life.”
