These five states are reopening their schools, colleges from today

After nearly a year of closure of educational institutes, five state governments have decided to reopen the schools and colleges in their areas with several Covid-19 health and safety guidelines in place for the students and staff.

Till now, the educational institutes were closed and students were attending online classes from their homes, which was not feasible for all the students due to the lack of resources and proper internet connection in remote areas.

Many guidelines have been issued by the state governments for the safety of the students, such as regular washing and sanitisation of hands, wearing a facemask at all times, and ensuring proper social distancing in all the common areas.

Bihar schools reopening

The government of Bihar has decided to reopen the schools for students of classes 1 to 5 from today. The batches will be held on alternate days to avoid overcrowding in the halls and classrooms. Many other safety guidelines have also been issued by the state government.

Mizoram colleges reopening

The colleges and universities in Mizoram are set to reopen from tomorrow, as per the directives of the state government. The seating plan of the classrooms has been changed to ensure proper social distancing among the students due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Jharkhand colleges reopening

The government of Jharkhand has issued orders to reopening the colleges and coaching centres in the state from today. The state government has already reopened the schools for higher classes. Students from classes 1 to 8 are currently attending online classes from home.

Uttar Pradesh schools reopening

The schools for students of classes 1 to 5 are reopening in Uttar Pradesh from today with several Covid-19 safety guidelines, after being shut down for 11 months. The students will only be allowed to attend offline classes after they present a consent form signed by their parents.

Haryana schools reopening

The government of Haryana has decided to reopen the schools in the state for students of classes 1 and 2 from today. It is not mandatory for the students to attend physical classes in school, and the authorities will keep conducting online classes for those who choose to stay home.
