Class 10 Board Examination: The Delhi Government’s Education Department has told schools run by it to conduct one-to-one assessment over the phone for class 10 students. Only those students who have not attended one or more of their pre-board examinations will be assessed telephonically. This step has been taken to formulate their final results after the cancellation of board examinations. The decision has come as several students were not able to appear for some of their pre-board exams. The department has also written to the CBSE to ask for a review of the timeline for the class 10 evaluation.
Formation of Result Committee
Apart from Delhi Government, the CBSE has asked every school to form their result committees to decide on the marks allocation formula. Also, they need to rationale for assessments they could not conduct, or tests for which students did not appear, and evaluate them out of 80 marks. The education department has released some centralised evaluation directives to be followed in all its schools.
Earlier, the education department had conducted pre-board exams for its class 10 students. However, the exams had to be wound up before the Mathematics paper was conducted because of the rise in COVID-19 cases in the city. For Mathematics, the department has directed schools to allocate marks to students based on the average of the papers in which they have performed best.
Uploading of Marks
Earlier, CBSE has activated the link of the ‘e Pareeksha’ portal. All the schools affiliated with the CBSE board can upload the marks of students of class 10th. The last date to upload marks on ‘e Pareeksha’ portal is 11th June 2021. Once any school uploads the student’s data, it will not be allowed to edit or modify it and therefore, the board has asked schools to be careful during the process.
CBSE Marking Policy to be Followed by Delhi Government’s School
As per the notification released by CBSE on 1st May, schools will have to evaluate the class 10 students for a total of 100 marks. The 10 marks will be given based on the periodic tests or unit tests conducted throughout the year, 30 marks for half-yearly or mid-term exams and 40 marks will be awarded based on their performance in pre-board exams. The remaining 20 marks will be based on the internal assessment as per the existing policy laid by CBSE.
