Education Minister to virtually meet state education secretaries on May 17

Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal has decided to conduct a meeting with the state education secretaries from across the country tomorrow, May 17. The meeting will be conducted in a virtual mode in view of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal is conducting this meeting with all the state education secretaries tomorrow to review the impact of Covid-19 on the education system of India, as the schools and colleges have been closed for nearly one year now..

Sources further said that this is the first virtual meeting of the Union Education Minister with the state education secretaries after Covid -19 second wave. The schools and colleges across the country have been shut down once again during the second wave, putting a lot of academic pressure on students.

 

Agenda of the meeting tomorrow

The Education Ministry had recently issued a statement to ANI, “Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank will meet virtually all state education secretaries on Monday.”

The statement further read, “The top agenda of the meeting will be the COVID -19 pandemic and its impact on education, promotion of online education, implementation of the New Education policy and preparation made by states.”

According to sources, the Union Minister will also review the preparation made by the state education departments to cope with the Covid-19 and how students can continue their online education despite the pandemic.
