The IET India Scholarship Award is meant for those students who are in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of their engineering programme (in any field). The students who qualify the eligibility as well as selection criteria stand a chance to get a scholarship worth INR 5,00,000. IET India Scholarship Awards – Key Dates
Dates play a crucial role when it comes to a scholarship application, especially the application deadline. It is very important for aspirants to apply for any scholarship well before its application deadline expires. The applications for IET India Scholarship Awards 2021 are now open. The students fulfilling the eligibility criteria can apply for it online before August 15, 2021.
IET India Scholarship Awards – Eligibility Criteria
Before heading on to apply for the IET India Scholarship Awards, the candidates are required to fulfil a certain set of eligibility conditions specified by the provider. These conditions generally depend on your current academic qualification and achievements. To be eligible for this scholarship award, the following eligibility criteria must be fulfilled –
- Students must be studying in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of a full-time regular undergraduate engineering programme (in any field) approved by UGC/AICTE.
- They must have cleared all regular credit courses in a single attempt.
- They must have scored at least 60% in aggregate or equivalent CGPA of at least 6.5 on a 10 point-scale in the semesters cleared so far.
- They must have obtained more that 60% marks or equivalent grade in Class 12 (or equivalent).
NOTE: All IET members and non-members can apply for this scholarship. Also, the scholarship is open for all branches of engineering as recognized by the AICTE/UGC.
IET India Scholarship Awards – Award Details
The amount of scholarship offered to students under the IET India Scholarship Awards varies based on their performance in the selection process. The students qualifying the regional rounds of selection will receive the following benefits –
- INR 50,000 + Certificate for the winner
- INR 25,000 + Certificate for the runner-up
Note: There will be at least 4 regional rounds for this scholarship.
Furthermore, the candidates qualifying the national finals will receive –
- INR 1,20,000 + Certificate for the winner
- INR 80,000 + Certificate for the 1st runner-up
- INR 60,000 + Certificate for the 2nd runner-up
Note: If a student wins the scholarship both at Regional and National level, he/she will be awarded Certificate for both the levels and the prize money for national level only.

Thus, the applicants are advised to fill the application properly. Follow the steps given below to apply –
Step 1: Visit the official website of the IET India Scholarship Awards.
Step 2: Read all the details carefully and click on the ‘Register Now’ button.
Step 3: Fill in all required details in the registration form and submit.
Step 4: After successful registration, login using registered email id and password.
Step 5: Continue to fill details like personal details, academic information, professional activities and co-curricular activities in the scholarship application.

IET India Scholarship Awards – Selection Criteria
Mere fulfillment of the eligibility criteria does not guarantee your selection for the scholarship. The candidates who apply for IET India Scholarship Awards are required to go through a multi-stage selection process after which the final selection is done. The selection process involves 4 stages/levels namely –
Stage 1 – Online Application
Initial shortlisting will be done on the basis of applications submitted by the candidates. The weightage given to each section of the application is as follows-
- Academics – 60%
- Extra and Co-Curricular activities – 20%
- Outreach – 10%
- Professional – 10%
Stage 2 – Online Test
The students qualifying the first level of selection process will be required to appear for an online test to assess their knowledge in subjects like Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mechanical, Electronics, and Electrical. The candidates will be required to answer around 50 objective-type questions, based on which the cut-off will be prepared and the candidates will be shortlisted for the next level of selection.
Stage 3 – Regional Level Assessment
After qualifying the online test, the candidates will have to give a presentation to the jury members on a topic assigned to them. This level of assessment will be conducted across 4 regions namely –
- South
- North
- East+North East
- West
Stage 4 – National Finals
The students qualifying the regional round will appear for the national finals in which they will be required to make a presentation on the vision and solution, as they see it, for an engineering problem that is relevant to the society. It may also include a group discussion basis which the final selection will be made.
