Thesis Submission for terminal MPhil and PhD scholars has been extended till December end by the University Grants Commission (UGC). ‘keeping in view the larger interest of the research scholars’ the deadline extension has been granted. So now the candidates of MPhil and PhD can submit their thesis till 31 December 2021.
The extension of M.Phil/Ph.D thesis has been granted “keeping in view the larger interest of the research scholars and also considering a large number of requests”. This is also applicable to all candidates of M.Phil/Ph.D whose due date of thesis is 31.12.2021.

The notification also added that the “tenure of fellowship will remain up to five year only.”
According to UGC, this is third time that the deadline of thesis submission has been extended.
However, initially the deadline was extended till December 31, 2020, and further extended to June 30. Now, with the latest announcement, till December 31, 2021 the candidates are allowed to submit their thesis.
