The Offline Classes For Final Year UG, PG Students To Resume Today By Delhi University

The Delhi University (DU), will resume offline classes for the final year UG and PG candidates from today, September 15. With 50 per cent attendance, Delhi University colleges, departments and centres will reopen for practical classes. Attendance to the offline practical classes for UG and PG candidates are not mandatory and the theory classes will continue in online mode.

Dr Anju Srivastava, principal of Hindu College said that “For parent’s consent, we have posted the Google form. We are doing practical classes offline and theory classes online so that combination doesn’t suit those who stay outside Delhi, because of this many might not have said yes for coming to college.”

In DU, for attending offline practical classes, students should have at least received one dose of the Covid vaccine. However, the candidates who are to live in hostels should be fully vaccinated against Covid. The staffs both teaching and non-teaching, should be fully vaccinated to attend the classes.

The DU guidelines on reopening added, only those experiments, practicals, would be held which are essential for the upcoming semester.

The Dean of Colleges of Delhi University and the principal of Bhaskaracharya College of Applied Sciences, Professor Balaram Pani said that, candidates from Delhi are expected to come and even if candidates from outside Delhi come, they would face problem in finding accommodation.

He also added that ” We will decide on the feasibility of holding physical classes by seeing the turnout. We will see the library footfall as the libraries have been opened and that would give us a rough idea on how many candidates are coming to colleges for issuing of books,”
