The NTA recently extended the deadline for correction in particulars of the first and second phase of NEET 2021 again.

As lakhs of students who appeared in NEET 2021 entrance exam are waiting eagerly for the release of NEET 2021 entrance exam, the National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to release the result soon.

The NTA recently extended the deadline for correction in particulars of the first and second phase of NEET 2021 again and an important notice has been released by the NTA regarding NEET 2021 entrance exam result. Candidates who have filled the application process and also updated their Phase 2 Registration particulars should re-check the information which they have filled on neet.nta.nic.in.

The NTA has extended the correction window till 11:50 pm on October 14, 2021. Candidates have been advised to re-check the information shared under Gender, Nationality, email address, Category, sub-category and field of second phase and if there is any mistake they are advised to correct it. It is to be noted that correction facility is also available for the students who have done the one-time corrections earlier.

NEET 2021 entrance exam result 2021: Important Update

The NTA has said in its latest notice that the candidates will receive the scanned copy of OMR Answer Sheets and the scorecards (Results) on their registered mail. The NTA has also advised all candidates to ask all students to check their registered e-mail address in the application form carefully.

Meanwhile, the NTA is yet to release NEET 2021 entrance exam answer key and the NTA is yet to make any official announcement in this regard. According to reports, the NTA would release the NEET 2021 entrance exam answer key only after the correction window closes. It is expected that NEET 2021 answer key would be released by October 15.

It is likely that the candidates would get 36–48 hours to raise objections in the provisional answer key and the NTA will thne verify the objections and prepare the final answer key accordingly. Notably, NEET 2021 entrance exam result would be based on the final answer key.

NEET 2021 entrance exam: Tie Breaker formula

NEET 2021 entrance exam question paper comprises Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Each subject had 45 MCQs of 4 marks with negative marks for wrong answers. If two or more candidates score the same marks in NEET 2021 entrance exam then a tie-breaking procedure will be followed by NTA. Here’s the the detailed procedure:

  • Candidates obtaining a higher percentile score in Biology (Botany and Zoology) in NEET 2021 entrance exam.
  • Candidate obtaining higher percentile score in Chemistry paper.
  • Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in all the subjects in the test.

NEET 2021 entrance exam: Marking Scheme

NEET 2021 entrance exam comprised questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology). The number of total questions in was 200 but candidates were asked to attempt only 180 questions. Out of the total 720 marks, 360 marks are from Biology (Botany + Zoology), 180 marks from Physics, and 180 marks from Chemistry.

For every correct answer, four marks will be allotted, and one mark will be deducted for a wrong answer. No marks will be cut for unattempted question.
