RPSC Recruitment 2022: Rajasthan Removes Interviews in State Recruitment Exams

The Rajasthan government has abolished interviews for the recruitment of state government employees by amending 44 service rules. Interviews will not be conducted as part of the recruitment procedure for exams except in Rajasthan Administrative Services (RAS), subordinate services and other four services. In such recruitments, the marks for the interview will be capped at 10 percent of the total.

Ashok Gehlot, Rajasthan chief minister, approved the proposal for amending service rules to get rid of interviews in different recruitment exams. “By amending the 44 service rules, the proposal to abolish the interview has been approved. Candidates will no longer be interviewed in the recruitments to be made by the Commission / Board / Appointing Authority for the posts falling under the said service rules,” tweeted Gehlot.

The minister further said that such a historic decision was taken to bring transparency to the state recruitment procedure and to clear the doubts of the candidates regarding the interview. Interviews will be conducted for certain posts and specific services as per the Rajasthan State and Subordinate Services (Direct Recruitment by Combined Competitive Examination) Rules, 1999. But in these cases, the weightage of the interview will be limited to a maximum of 10 percent of the total marks.
