Over 15 lakh applications for NEET 2019: NTA requires 3,000 exam centres

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2019 will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on May 5, 2019. For the entrance exam, NTA has received more than 15 lakh applications for admission to medical courses in the country and abroad as the government made it compulsory for Indian candidates to take NEET.

 

As per reports, last year, a total of 13 lakh candidates appeared for NEET. The agency has noticed an increase of more than 2 lakh candidates to appear for the exam.

NTA to conduct competitive exams:

Earlier, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) used to conduct this exam and now NTA has been given this responsibility.

 

This is the first time that NEET is being conducted by NTA which is a newly formed body by Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).
