Online internship fair launched in tier-2 cities to help over 30 lakh degree students

December 21, 2018

  • India’s largest internship and training platform, Internshala has launched an online internship fair for degree students from tier-2 cities of India.

According to a recent report from AISHE, over 30 lack degree students are enrolled in colleges in tier-2 cities. In comparison to their peers in tier-1, these students face challenges like fewer career opportunities and lack of awareness which hampers their career growth.

  • Internshala has launched an online internship fair to create awareness on internships and to bring opportunities closer to a large number of students studying tier-2 cities.

Details about the online internship fair

The Online Internship Fair is a 9-day internship drive which will be live from December 19, 2018, to December 27, 2018

The drive brings exclusive internship opportunities for the students pursuing BBA, BCom, BA, BSc, and similar degree courses in tier-2 cities like Jaipur, Indore, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, and many more

Through this drive, students will get an opportunity to intern with a company for 2-6 months and earn a stipend of up to INR 10,000 per month

Lack of career opportunities in tier 2 cities

  • The founder and CEO of Internshala, Sarvesh Agrawal said, "I come from a small town in Rajasthan and I have closely observed the lack of opportunities students face in our tier-2 cities; due to this, some students often move to tier-1 cities while some remain unemployed."

"I come across inspirational stories of students from tier-2 and one such example is of Abhipsa Mohanty, a BA graduate in English Literature from Bhubaneswar. She learned about internships from a relative and by pursuing three internships in her first year of college, she gave an early start to her career," he said.

"Through this campaign, we are taking our first step towards our mission to bring meaningful opportunities to students like Abhipsa so that they can build a successful career," Agrawal added.
