IBPS PO 2019: Tips to clear the exam with flying colours

Every year, candidates from across the country who aspire to bag a job in one of the reputed banks of India, appear for the recruitment exams conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). Since vacancies are limited and the number of applicants is huge, the competition to crack the exam is cut-throat. Here are some important details and tips for candidates who want to ace the IBPS PO Exam 2019:

 

IBPS PO EXAM 2019

Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) will conduct common recruitment process for recruitment of 4336 probationary officers/ management trainees in October/November 2019. The IBPS PO exam will be two-tier i.e. the online examination will be held in two phases, Online Preliminary and Online Main. Candidates who will qualify in Online Preliminary examination and shortlisted will have to appear for Online Main examination and shortlisted candidates in the Online Main examination will subsequently be called for a Common Interview to be conducted by the nine participating Organisations and co-ordinated by the Nodal Bank.

 

IBPS PO PRELIMINARY EXAM 2019: PREPARATION TIPS

The candidates will have to appear for the IBPS PO preliminary examination first. This year the IBPS PO 2019 Prelims exam will be held on October 12, 13, 19 and 20. The IBPS PO exam will be conducted in a computer-based test (CBT) mode. The candidates need to answer 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) – 35 for Quantitative, 35 for Reasoning and 30 for English.

 

The candidates have 20 minutes for each section with a total time of 60 minutes to complete the entire paper.

SYLLABUS AND EXAM PATTERN

The syllabus for IBPS PO exam is only indicative. The candidates are advised to read the syllabus carefully and practice using any standard book for Quantitative, Reasoning and English, thoroughly. The next important thing is to understand the exam pattern. You can pick previous years’ IBPS PO exam papers and mock tests for reference.

STUDY PLAN

Planning for anything is very important, it gives a direction to your efforts. Divide your time covering the entire syllabus and focus more on important topics. Check previous years’ questions papers to find out chapters from which more questions are typically asked in the exam. Set a daily and weekly study targets and keep checking your progress.

 

MOCK TESTS

Mock tests are the best way to check your exam preparation progress. It helps you understand your strong and weak points. After the mock test is over, analyse your answers and identify your weak areas and allocate more time for them in your study plan.

 

STRATEGY
