IP university issues exam guidelines final exams may begin on July 10

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University has announced that they will conduct pen and paper exams for their final year/semester students tentatively on July 10. The university added that all intermediate semesters/years will get unconditional promotion to next semester/year. This is a marked difference from Delhi University where an online Open Book Exam has been planned for final year students, and has met with opposition from students and teachers.

According to the university notification the students will be promoted on the basis of their composite 50% weightage of marks in the previous semester/year only and 50% weightage of marks in internal assessment of the current semester in each subject.

As per the University’s Academic Council the duration for all the physical end term exams would be two hours and exams can be scheduled on weekends.

The varsity will hold two exams per day to minimise the visit of the students, and will conduct viva-voce online.

According to IP University Vice-chancellor Mahesh Verma, the dates can change depending on the Covid-19 pandemic scenario in Delhi.
