NEET Result 2020: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to release the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET 2020 results by October 12. The NEET Result 2020 can be checked on the official website, the link for which is ntaneet.nic.in. The NEET 2020 exam was conducted on September 13 at various test centres across the country amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

All the candidates who are eagerly waiting for the NEET 2020 result should not lose hope if they do not clear the exam this year.

Next step for students who do not clear NEET 2020
Look for alternative career options other than MBBS/BDS

1. A student can look for alternative courses such as Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery, Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery, Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery, Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, etc.

2. A PCB student can explore courses in Biology and Life- sciences, Health Management, etc.

3. A PCMB student can look at inter-disciplinary fields in Biology such as Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Genetic Engineering, etc.

4. A student can also opt for less known but rewarding careers in Pharmacy, Nursing, Clinical Psychology, Optometry, Radio Technology, Physiotherapy, Forensic Science, Medical Lab Technologist, etc.

5. With a boom in the health and nutrition industry, a student can also consider a career as a Nutritionist

6. If a student is persistent about a career in medicine, he/she can apply abroad as there are many internationally recognised universities oversees that offers amazing opportunities as well as exposure in medicine.

Not clearing NEET is not the end of the world. Nowadays, there are numerous career options and plenty of opportunities for students. It’s all about understanding their interests and what they are truly passionate about.

Repeat a year and prepare for NEET 2021
If a student is honestly passionate about pursuing medicine as a career, he/she should not hesitate from repeating a year. Sacrificing a year to achieve one’s dream is definitely worth a shot. Repeating a year allows a student to prepare dedicatedly for NEET.

This improves his/her rank, thereby increases chances of selection in the best medical colleges and also boosts the overall confidence. Moreover, travelling the same road twice gives an added advantage as students are more experienced and capable of handling pressure and stress.
