A circular on the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training website reiterated the state’s general administration department resolution on starting the ITI admission process without any reservation for the socially and educationally backward classes (SEBC). Since these students have already applied under the quota, the directorate has allowed them to make changes in the application form by 5pm on November 30 to seek admission under the open category. The application process had started on August 1 and the first round of admissions had concluded before September 9 and therefore will remain unaffected by the Supreme Court order. An official said around 27,000 students have already secured admissions in the first round, of whom 2,054 are from the SEBC quota.
