Jamia will be reopening the campus for PhD candidates, who are due to submit their thesis by the end of this year, and final-year students can attend their clinical practice and practical classes from November. The university order said that, all the staffs, teachers, students, administrative and support staff to get vaccinated at the earliest and to strictly follow the guidelines on COVID-19 appropriate behaviour.
Also the order issued on Wednesday said that, classes and examination for all UG, PG and diploma programmes will continue to be conducted through online mode till further orders. It also mentioned that, hostel facilities will remain suspended till further orders.
“The Jamia campus will be opened for the Ph.D. students, who are due to submit their thesis on or before December 31, 2021. From the month of November, 2021 the final year/semester students may attend clinical and practical classes offline in limited number subject to the adherence to COVID-19 health and hygiene protocols,” the order said.
The order also said that the departmental library facility will be remind open for PhD and final-year semester candidates on production of their latest negative RT-PCR report or vaccination certificate. “The Deans, Directors, and HoDs are requested to ensure the timely conduct of teaching and evaluation work by the concerned faculty members,” the order read.
This week, various student groups had urged Jamia to reopen its campus in view of the improved COVID-19 situation in Delhi. Although other central universities like JNU and DU have initiated phase-wise reopening of their campuses, Jamia had not yet made any announcement in the regard.
Looking into the improvement of COVID-19 situation, the Delhi government has decided to reopen schools for classes 9 to 12, colleges, and coaching institutions from September 1.
