About

The Luce Scholars Program, established by the Henry Luce Foundation as part of their mission to increase understanding and interaction between Asia and the West, provides a one-year work experience in East or Southeast Asia. The program is directed at recent graduates and young professionals from a wide range of fields who have had limited exposure to Asia and who might not otherwise have an opportunity to come to know the region. Applicants are evaluated on outstanding capacity for leadership, record of high achievement, maturity, and a clearly defined career path with relevant previous experience, coursework, and/or activities and demonstrated evidence of potential for significant professional accomplishments. Personal qualities such as flexibility, adaptability, creativity, humility, openness to new ideas, and sensitivity to cultural differences are as important as academic achievement.
