GATE 2024: IISc Bangalore Postpones Registration to August 30

GATE 2024: Registration for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) will now begin on August 30, an official notice by IISc Bangalore stated at the official website — gate2024.iisc.ac.in.

Earlier, the application portal was expected to open by August 24, but towards the end of the day IISc Bangalore released a notification stating that the “application portal (is) expected to open on 30th August 2023”.

GATE 2024: How to apply

Step 1: Register yourself at the official website — gate2024.iisc.ac.in

Step 2: Once registered, login using email id, password and entering the security code

Step 3: Enter your details and upload the necessary documents

Step 4: Submit and pay the fees

The exam will be held on February 3, 4, 10 and 11, 2024 in two shifts on each day — 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. IISc Bangalore is yet to announce a detailed schedule, i.e. which test paper will be held on which day.

Additionally, this time IISc Bangalore has added a new paper on Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. The host institute has released the papers and syllabus, There will be 30 papers out of which, students can choose up to two papers. The exam will be conducted in English and each paper will be for 100 marks. Out of the total marks, General Aptitude (GA) will be common for all papers, it would be for 15 marks. The rest of the paper will be for 85 marks.

GATE is conducted on a rational basis by the seven first generation Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) (IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, IIT Guwahati and IIT Roorkee) and Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore. This year, it is being conducted by IISc Bangalore.
