Post Matric Scholarship (PMS) for SC/ST Category, Bihar 2023-24

Eligibility

To be eligible, an applicant must:  

  • be a domicile/resident of Bihar
  • belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) or Scheduled Tribe (ST) category of Bihar
  • have an annual family income of not more than INR 2.5 lakh from all sources
Benefits

The selected candidates will receive the benefits in the following manner:

The selected students will receive the other benefits in the following manner:

  • Maintenance allowance
  • Reimbursement of compulsory non-refundable fees
  • Study tour charges
  • Thesis typing
  • Book allowance
  • Book bank facilities
Group Courses Hostellers (In INR for 10 months) Day Scholars (In INR for 10 months)
Group 1 1) Degree and Postgraduate level courses in Medicine, Engineering, Technology, Planning, Architecture, Design, Fashion, Technology, Agriculture, Veterinary and Allied Sciences, Management, Business Finance/Administration, Computer Sciences and Applications.

2) Postgraduation Diploma courses in various branches of Management and Medicine

3)C.A/I.C.W.A./C.S./I.C.F.A. etc.(Applicable at Day Scholar rate only INR 550 per month)

4)M.Phil., Ph.D. and Post-doctoral Programmes (D.Lit., D.Sc. etc.), Group 1, Group 2, Group 3 courses

5) Commercial Pilot License (including helicopter pilot and multiengine rating) course.

6) L.L.M.

Group 2 Professional courses leading to degree, diploma, and certificate in Pharmacy (B. Pharma), Nursing (B.Nursing), BFS, and other para-medical branches like rehabilitation, diagnostics etc, Mass Communication, Hotel Management and Catering, Travel/Tourism/Hospitality Management, Interior Decoration, Commerical Arts, Finance for which entrance qualification is minimum senior secondary and vocational stream, ITI courses, and polytechnic where entrance qualification is Class 12 or above. 820 530

Note:

  • Disabled students will receive a 10% extra allowance.
  • Students pursuing CA/ICWA/CS/ICFA will be treated as day scholars for the purpose of academic allowance.
  • Students studying through correspondence/online courses shall not be eligible for academic allowances.
  • Commercial Pilot License Course (CPL) – The CPL course is covered under Group ‘I’. The number of awards for CPL will be INR 10 per annum. The selection of 10 ST students for the CPL course will be made through the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
  • Application for the CPL course will be invited through advertisement. Interested ST students may apply for selection for a grant or scholarship for pursuing a CPL course.

  • Fee Receipt from Institution
  • Last exam passing certificate

Note: All the documents must be uploaded in PDF format and under 150-400 KB in size.

How can you apply?

Eligible applicants can apply for the scholarship by following the below-mentioned steps –
Step 1: 
Click on the ‘Apply Now’ button.
Step 2: Click on the ‘Register’ button and fill in the required details. (Note – If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
Step 3: Navigate to the ‘New Students Registration for SC-ST 2023-24’ tab. (Note – If already registered, click on the ‘Login For Already Registered Students for SC-ST 2023-24’ to proceed).
Step 4: Read the details carefully, tick on the agreement boxes and click on the ‘Submit’ button.
Step 5: Fill in the required details to register and click on the ‘Next’ button.
Step 6: Login using valid credentials (user ID, password, captcha code) to access the application form.
Step 7: Fill in the required details, upload the relevant documents and submit.
