Centrally Sponsored Pre Matric Scholarship Scheme for ST Students, Himachal Pradesh 2023

Eligibility

To be eligible, an applicant must –

  • be a citizen of India
  • be a permanent resident of Himachal Pradesh
  • belong to Scheduled Tribe (ST) category
  • be studying in Class 9 and 10 at a recognised institution
  • have a family income of not more than ₹2,50,000 per annum
  • have a valid account in a Scheduled Bank, linked with Aadhaar and mobile number
  • not be receiving any other scholarship
Benefits

Selected candidates will receive the following benefits:

Additional Disability Allowance:-

  • In addition to the scholarship provided in Table 2 above, an additional grant of ₹ 800 monthly (₹ 9,600 annually) will be given to the Divyangjan student who is a hosteller and ₹ 600 monthly (₹ 7,200 annually) to a day scholar.
  • The disability as defined under the act has to be certified by a competent medical authority of the State Govt./UT Administration. The provisions of disability allowance will also apply to leprosy-cured and students having sickle cell anemia or Thalassemia, with the necessary certificate.
Documents

  • One passport-size photo
  • Original Scheduled Tribe (ST) certificate signed by an authorised revenue officer, not below the rank of Tehsildar
  • Income declaration of self-employed parents/guardians

Note: If the student received a scholarship under the same scheme in the previous year, a receipt in acknowledgment of the scholarship is to be submitted.

How can you apply?

Eligible students can apply for the scholarship through the following steps –

Step 1: Click on theApply Now.
Step 2: Click on the ‘Register’ button and fill in the required registration details. (Note: If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
Step 3: Navigate to ‘Applicant Corner’and click on ‘New Registration’ tab.
Step 4: Read the details carefully, tick the checkbox and click on the ‘Continue’ button.
Step 5: Enter mobile number, captcha code, and OTP, then submit.
Step 6: Fill in the required details and click on ‘Save & Register’ to complete the registration process.
Step 7: Now click on the ‘Fresh Application’ tab and log in using the application ID and password.
Step 8: Fill in the required details, upload the necessary documents and submit the application.

Note – All the applicants are advised to fill the form correctly, no changes can be made once submitted. The applicants are also advised to fill in only one application as multiple applications will cancel the form.

Selection Criteria
The candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria will receive the scholarship.

Terms and Conditions

  • The applicant should not be in receipt of any other centrally-funded pre-matric scholarship.
  • The scholarship will be awarded for one academic year (i.e 10 months).
  • The scholarship will not be awarded for training courses like Aircraft Engineer’s Courses and Private Pilot Licence courses at Training – Ship Dufferin (Now Rajendra) courses at the Military College, Dehradun and courses at pre-examination training centres at all India and State levels.
  • The students who have already received coaching at any pre-examination training centres with financial assistance from the Government are not eligible for the scholarship.
  • Students who have completed their education in one professional line and want to continue studying for other professions are not eligible.
  • Students pursuing postgraduate courses in medicine are eligible if they are not allowed to practice during the period of their course.
  • Students who pursue their studies through correspondence courses are also eligible. The term correspondence includes distance and continuing education.
  • The candidates belonging to one State but studying in another State will be awarded scholarships by the State to which they belong.
  • The students domiciled in one State/UT but holding an ST certificate of another State/UT can avail the scholarship in the State/UT from which the ST certificate was issued.
