DYSL-AI Bengaluru Junior Research Fellowship 2024

Eligibility

To be eligible, an applicant must:-

  • be an Indian national
  • hold a graduate or postgraduate degree in Technology/Engineering (B.E/B.Tech. or M.E/M.Tech.) OR
  • hold a postgraduate degree in Basic Science [with National Eligibility Test (NET) qualification]
  • be below 28 years of age as of the date of the interview (Note: Relaxation by 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates will be given.)

Desired Qualifications:

  • possess a strong foundation in problem-solving, algorithm design, and complexity analysis
  • demonstrate expertise in at least one major programming language such as Python, Java, C++, or similar
  • possess knowledge of classical AI algorithms, as well as machine learning and deep learning techniques
  • have proven experience with software libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, TensorRT, and PyTorch Mobile

Optional Desired Qualifications:

  • possess comprehensive knowledge of speech and language technology, encompassing speech recognition, natural language understanding (NLP), and machine translation
  • demonstrate a thorough understanding of 3D vision, Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM), and ROS
  • possess comprehensive knowledge of computer vision, including generative models or reinforcement Learning

Non-eligibility:

  • Applicants awarded JRF positions in any of the DRDO laboratories/centres.

Note:-

  • Age and educational qualifications will be calculated or determined as of the date of the interview.
  • Candidates working in government/public sector/undertaking/autonomous bodies should apply through proper channels.
  • The applicants are required to submit a signed declaration (Annexure ‘II’) from the Cadre Controlling Authority (CCA) regarding the fellowship and must produce a “No Objection Certificate’ from their CCA at the time of the interview.
Benefits

The selected fellows will be granted a monthly stipend of ₹37,000 along with applicable House Rent Allowance (HRA) at the current rate of 27%, resulting in a total payment of ₹46,990 per month.

Note:- Accommodation can be provided based on availability, in which case, HRA will be deducted.

Selection Criteria
The candidates will be shortlisted based on their GATE score or the percentage of marks obtained in their qualifying degree. Shortlisted candidates must complete an online coding examination. Qualified candidates will then proceed to a personal interview.

The mode of interview, whether in-person or via video conferencing, will be determined by the director. The decision of the committee, appointed by the Director of DYSL-Al, in selecting the candidate will be final and binding for all applicants.

Terms and Conditions

  • No travel or accommodation allowances will be provided for attending the interview or upon selection.
  • Only candidates holding a degree or provisional degree certificate are eligible to apply.
  • The fellowship offer is temporary and valid for a limited period according to current regulations. It does not guarantee absorption into DRDO.
  • Individuals who have previously been granted JRF positions at any of the DRDO Laboratories/centres are ineligible to reapply.
  • Candidates are required to submit proof of their CGPA along with the corresponding percentage conversion formula provided by their University/Institution, alongside the application form.
  • The research fellowship may be terminated at any time during the tenure with one month’s prior notice. Fellows may also resign with one month’s prior notice.
  • DYSL-AI, Bangalore reserves the right to amend, modify, or cancel this advertisement. The fellowships mentioned above may be subject to increase, decrease, or cancellation based on prevailing requirements or restrictions, as per the policies of the Government of India.
  • Candidates should make their own arrangement for their stay and transport in Bangalore.
